The Guadarrama Tunnels South project is the greatest civil engineering project to date in Spain, and one of the greatest in Europe!

Four Double Shield Tunnel Boring Machines, each with a 9.3 metre diameter are excavating two parallel two parallel tunnels. Each tunnel is 28 kms in length and is part of the high speed rail line between Madrid, Segovia and Valladolid.

The Colcrete Eurodrill distributor for Spain is Abyo SA, based in Madrid. They have supplied two Colcrete Eurodrill CMP 1630 Colloidal Grout Mixer/Pump units for use on the project. These provide self-contained grouting units capable of operating at high pressure and offering the advantage of colloidal mixing. The pumps are hydraulically powered, providing excellent control of flow and pressure.
